Morro da Babilônia (Babilonia Hill), has the most popular climbing routes in Rio de Janeiro due to their easy access and easy to medium grades.

Babilonia is a good choice if you are climbing for the first time outdoor multi-pitch in Rio or if you don’t have much time to spend climbing and want a short approach with an incredible view of Praia Vermelha (beach next to Sugarloaf cable car) and Sugarloaf Mountain.

Altogether, there are 40 routes with grades ranging from 5.7 (4) to 5.10d (6b). Most of the routes involve face technical climbing, with some friction sections, and are bolted. There are also some dihedrals and cracks.
